Nowadays, sunglasses are not just functional items that ensure that your eyes are protected from the summer sunshine or snowy glare, they’re also a fashion statement and certainly one of our favourite fashion accessories this season and it seems that the designers agree with us.
From the modish designs of Ralph Lauren and DKNY, the daring embellished lenses of Miu Miu and Anna-Karin Karlsson to Band of Outsider’s classic mirrored aviators and Thom Browne’s scientist frames. Sunglasses are a great way to show off your individuality and personal style! So, when picking out the perfect pair it’s important to know which style will suit your face shape and what’s trending on and off the runway right now.
1. Two-Tone Monochrome Sunglasses
Designers have created a wide range of interesting sunglasses shapes for this season and some of favourites include the angular cuts of cat eye lenses. We love the bold two-tone monochrome creations of Thierry Lasry, which will lend themselves to a variety of different settings.
2. Latticed Black Metal Sunglasses
While the sunglasses designers at House of Holland have also shown off their creativity by creating a pair of latticed black metal lenses aptly named Cagefighter.
3. Coloured Frame Sunglasses
Miu Miu has created some of the trendiest coloured framed sunglasses that will perfectly suit square, heart and oval faces for this season.
4. Embellished Sunglasses
The embellished sunglasses trend may not be for everyone, but designers like Anna-Karin Karlsson are really managing to pull off this look without making it gaudy.
5. Round Frame Sunglasses
As for the round frames, they haven’t gone anywhere and this is certainly a look that is much easier to pull off for everyday wear. This super retro style has been gaining popularity on and off the runway and some of our favourites include KENZO’s round-frame acetate sunglasses and Miu Miu’s black and gold John Lennon inspired sunglasses. Super creative!
